I'm a Believer!
FAITH ~ HOPE ~ LOVE

1 Corinthians 13:12-13
Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Colossians 1:3-6
We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints— the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel 6that has come to you. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God's grace in all its truth.

He was walking her home...
Singer ~ Songwriter Mark Schultz has been able to take me from “zero-to-fifty in 10 seconds” (crying, that is) ever since his hit “He’s My Son” and “Letters From War”.
(I’ll be blahg-ing about Letters from War asap).
“Walking Her Home” is yet another in the long list of real life events that this brilliant writer captures for us to experience in a few moments of time.
Please listen and expect to have your heart yanked on.
I was talking with my elderly parents who were worried about the lack of activity at an elderly friend’s home. They checked in on this guy to find he was “grounded” - his family had taken all his keys so he couldn’t drive. His wife is in assisted living. It is agonizing to see the circumstance. I don’t judge the family - they may be doing all they can. There is always more to a story than meets the eye in these situations.
BUT… One story - in song - that captures it sweetly - and that it isn’t dreadful - is Schultz’s “Walking Her Home".
Pay close attention to the final portion of the song as these two old saints face eternity together … and the sweetness that is promised when assurance of moving on into the presence of the Savior is in the heart of the believer.
Looking back - he sees it all It was her first date the night he came to call.
Her dad said, “son, have her home on time and promise me you’ll never leave her side”.
He took her to a show in town and he was ten feet off the ground …
He was walking her home and holding her hand. Oh the way she smiled it stole the breath right out of him. Down that old road with the stars up above... He remembers where he was the night he fell in love. He was walking her home
Ten more years and a waiting room - at half past one. And the doctor said come in and meet your son. His knees went weak when he saw his wife - she was smiling as she said he’s got your eyes. And as she slept he held her tight... His mind went back to that first night
He was walking her home and holding her hand. Oh the way she smiled it stole the breath right out of him. Down that old road with the stars up above He remembers where he was the night he fell in love. He was walking her home.
He walked her through the best days of her life. Sixty years together and he never left her side...
… A nursing home - At eighty-five And the doctor said “it could be her last night” ...And the nurse said “Oh Should we tell him now? Or should he wait until the morning to find out”. But when they checked her room that night - he was laying by her side...
Oh he was walking her HOME! And holding her hand... Oh the way she smiled when he said THIS IS NOT THE END ...And just for a while they were eighteen and she was still more beautiful to him than anything. He was walking her HOME
He was walking her HOME
Looking back - he sees it all It was her first date the night he came to call …
~joy in the journey.

PS: I know the song inside and out - and it still rips my heart out from the bottom up as so many of Schultz’s songs do. I weep even when I KNOW what it coming. I have made it I practice to NOT listen to Mark Schultz while driving!
I salute the creator of this you tube excellent work - xo
John 6: 40 ~ For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 10: 27-29 ~ My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand.
2 Peter 3: 13-14 ~ But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.

UnHappy Anniversary
Memorials & Memories…
I would be remiss to not quietly acknowledge that each of us has been touched in some way during this week of deep sorrow and unspeakable pain. We collectively add Virginia Tech to other such grief-laden words like Oklahoma City and Columbine.
Evil is NOT the opposite of God.
Evil is the ABSENCE of God.
When you find yourself saying Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas, remember that removing God and closing the doors to His presence invites evil.
Still - He seeks us and waits for us, and loves us…
FORGIVES US...
As small children, He is our superhero … as troubled teens He is a secret friend… As new parents He holds us when we struggle. And when we are ready to leave this life He is there to comfort & keep us…

I Am
(by Nichole Nordeman 2002 Ariose Music)
Pencil marks on a wall, I wasn't always this tall
You scattered some monsters from beneath my bed.
You watched my team win, and watched my team lose
Watched when my bicycle went down again
When I was weak, unable to speak, still I could call You by name
And I said Elbow Healer, Superhero, come if you can
You said, I Am
Only sixteen, life is so mean
What kind of curfew is at 10 pm?
You saw my mistakes and watched my heart break
Heard when I swore I'd never love again
When I was weak, unable to speak, still I could call You by name
And I said Heartache Healer, Secret Keeper, be my best friend
You said, I Am
You saw me wear white by pale candlelight
I said 'forever' to what lies ahead
Two kids and a dream, with kids that can scream
Too much it might seem when it is 2 am.
When I was weak, unable to speak, still I could call You by name
Oh, Shepherd Savior, Pasture Maker, hold on to my hand
You said, I Am
The winds of change and circumstance
Blow in and all around us
So we find a foothold that's familiar
And bless the moments that we feel you nearer
When life had begun I was woven and spun
You let the angels dance around the throne
Who can say when, but they'll dance again
When I am free and finally headed home
I will be weak, unable to speak, still I will call You by name
Creator, Maker, Life SustainerComforter, Healer, My Redeemer
Lord and King, Beginning and the End
I Am, I Am
